Programming Year (Sunday after Labor Day through Sunday before Memorial Day)
Every Sunday during Sunday School hour, 9:30-10:30:

Pre-K Class

This class is for children ages three through five.  Kindergarteners aged 5 may attend the pre-K class or the Kingdom Kids class, whichever the parents decide is the best fit for them. The students will learn stories from both the Old and New Testaments with Miss Sarah and assistants through storytelling, singing and playing games together as well as reinforcing lessons through crafts and art.

Kingdom Kids

Kingdom Kids Sunday School at Westwood UMC is for Kindergarten-5th graders.  It is a multi-sensory, creative program focusing on a specific Bible story or theme each month.  Activities like music, cooking, games, drama and more lead them to experience the theme from different angles.   All elementary age children are invited to join us during the Sunday School hour.  This year's theme is "Called by God".  Each month we are looking at a character from the Bible and how they responded to God's call in their lives.

Every Sunday during second service at 11 a.m.:

Children ages 4 to grade 5 join their parents for the first part of the service.  After the Children’s Moment, they are dismissed to either Children’s Worship or Chimes

At Westwood UMC we place a high priority on helping our children learn to worship God in their own way.

Children's Worship

Children grades K-2nd grade have their own worship time.  They will sing and make music, pray, and interact with Scripture presented in ways relevant to their age and interest.

In Children's Worship, we explore the same Scripture and topic that is presented in the main service, so families have a common point of reference for their worship service experience.  We welcome any parents who would like to sit in and see what we do during Children's Worship.

Children grades 3-8 will worship God through music as they learn the basics of handbells and will be given the opportunity to play throughout the year during church services.

Children from both Children’s Worship and Chimes return to sit with their parents for the final portion of the church service.  Occasionally we will have Family Worship Sundays, with no separate Children’s Worship or Chimes.

Every Sunday during both services and Sunday School hour:

The nursery has a welcome and friendly atmosphere for your baby or toddler. If you are planning on attending an adult Sunday School class or either of our services, there is a caring place for your younger family members as well.

Summer Schedule:

From Memorial Day through Labor Day we follow our summer schedule on Sundays.  Two services are at 8:30 and 10:10, with fellowship time and food in between.  During the second service, we have Children's Worship for ages 4 years - 5th grade.  This year we are reading Dr. Seuss and seeing what he can teach us about God and the Bible.

Nursery service is provided during both services for infants through 4 years of age.
