Youth Ministry

Youth Ministries Build Foundations

Ministries are offered for high school students in grades 6 through 8 for middle-high and grades 9 through 12 for high school.  The programs hopes to help develop the youth's understanding of Christian ideals and the foundations of The United Methodist Church.  Youth are encouraged to be an active part of the life of the church through study, fellowship, service and participation.

Church School
Programs designed to explore the Christian faith and apply its principles to daily life are an important part of the youth education Church school offerings. The youth are encouraged to explore their faith with adult leaders.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship
Sunday evenings are scheduled for United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) gatherings that combine Christian exploration, service and fun activities for the youth.  The students experience the importance of learning and playing with their peers as an expression of God's love for them.

Appalachia Service Project
The Appalachia Service Project (ASP) mission trip has proven to be a life-changing experience for many youth and their sponsoring adults.  Traveling to the mountains of Kentucky and other states, youth get to meet new people, explore the principles of Christian service, and work to make homes "warmer, safer and dryer" for families in Appalachia.

Choirs and Worship Ministries
Youth participate in many aspects of the worship life of the church.  They can be members of many youth-only singing and bell choirs.  They may also stand side-by-side with adults as choir members, ushers and worship assistants, sound operators and video operators.
